Here is Love

Ephesians 5:25-26: “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,”

The book of Hosea deals with Israel’s great sin against God. In the Introduction to a commentary on the book of Hosea, first printed in 1978, the author states:

“The greatest sin in all the world is against love. This is worse than all the others, and this is the message of Hosea. Gomer was not only guilty of breaking the marriage vow, which was bad enough, but she sinned against the one who loved her. That is sin at its worst. My friend, to sin against God and the saviour who loves you is worse than the animism and animalism of the heathen world. The sin of paganism is nothing compared to the sin of those who sin against God’s love. It is deeper and darker than the immorality of the underworld and the demonism of the overworld.”

Quotation from The Greatest Sin in all the World which makes application as this sin is commited against the marriage vow and the marriage, and when the sin is committed in the home, the nation, and the church. Click here to go to PDF of The Greatest Sin in all the World.

God says:

  • “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ” (2 Corinthians 11:2).
  • “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:25-27).
  • “I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love” (Revelation 2:2-4.).
  • “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all” (Ephesians 1:22-23).
  • And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:17-18).

The “Simply Church” Ministry helps churches who wish to organize according to God’s principles for the church, churches who wish to return to the Lord and forsake their illegitimate lovers (the state through incorporation or other means, the federal government through tax-exempt status, etc.). Services are motivated by love. Therefore, there are no charges whatsoever for our help.
