Big Problems with Gateway Church and Most American Churches

Prostitute“Gateway took the credit and I’m thinking, ‘Let’s be honest,’” Hunt said. “We had a marketing department. That’s part of the problem. There is a marketing department. In order to have a good business you need marketing, and part of the issue is business. When you have business, other practices get entered into the business of church. I am not anti-marketing, but God is not business.” (Quote from a long time member of Gateway Church)

Robert Morris bragged that he built Gateway Church on business principles, so the fact that the church was out of line with God’s Word was not hidden. Now, the results of that and other heretical and apostate practices are on display to the world. This is more proof that deviating from God’s methods and principles stated in His Holy Word, the King James Bible in English, always, sooner or later ends in disastrous results.

The quote at the top is from an article that unwittingly reveals some other problems with Gateway Church and most other American churches. Problems like women pastors, celebrity pastors, quotas, etc., not to mention problems that are not revealed in the article.

In spite of warnings starting during the colonial period and early history of America (see, Section II of The Trail of Blood of the Martyrs of Jesus: Christian Revisionism on Trial and other resources on the Simply Church website) few churches, pastors, and believers will study the matters out in the Word of God, and repent. As a sidenote, most believers do not believe that there is a Word of God available today. They will remain corporate, 501(c)(3) or 508(c)(1)(A) government organizations and businesses, with one advantage: they are exempt from federal taxation, and their considerable real estate properties are tax exempt. They will continue to operate like businesses, pay “employees” huge salaries, spend huge amounts of money to build magnificent buildings, use worldly music and tactics to try to get anyone who will to come to church and help build their little kingdoms.

Of course, God’s Word foretold the apostasy of the church 2000 years before we witness it in America today. See, the sections on apostasy in The Biblical Doctrine of the Church and other resources on the Simply Church website. Nothing surprises God and nothing should surprise the believer who is studied in God’s Word. The good news is that there is always a remnant and their end will be magnificent beyond comprehension, no matter the fate of the great majority of mankind.

The State of the “Christian Religion” in America

The article My church is closing, and I don’t know what comes next — for me, or America is very instructive for the Bible literate believer. Obviously, for example, the author of that article has no clue about many matters concerning the Bible doctrine of the church and the application of that doctrine. However, he does present some detailed facts about the state of “religion” and the church in America.

The Bible doctrine of the church is explained in the resources on the Simply Church website. The Bible explanation of apostasy of the church, in The Doctrine of the Church gives the Bible explanation for the apostasy of the church and applies it to the American landscape.

As is explained in materials on the Simply Church website, it is too late for America; She has passed the point of no return. More importantly, most churches are apostate and dead or dying or nonexistent; the apostasy of the church is the reason for the state of America. But God, as always, has a remnant. Everything is working out just as God says it would. Mankind, in general, is sinking into depravity at accelerating rate. World events are playing out like God said they would.

We can know, from God’s word, that he will take his children to their new home and wedding ceremony, and, after seven years, establish, by force, His millennial kingdom!
